CHERNOBYL
I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I first heard about the Chernobyl nuclear disaster. What we had feared for so long had finally happened.
This work depicts a survivor returning to a school in the Chernobyl area, forty years after the disaster. The scene is seen through distorted, blurred and light-sensitive eyes — a visual interpretation of the lasting effects of radiation and the passage of time.
Part of the UNDO series, the work reflects on the consequences of actions that cannot simply be undone, and on the traces they leave behind long after the event itself has faded from memory.
UNDO
This piece is part of a series of large-scale charcoal works that, due to their size and level of realism, blur the line between drawing and traditional painting.
Each work in the series explores themes centered on how we treat our world — and one another — inviting reflection on our shared responsibility and impact.
WE NEED TO DO BETTER!
